Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Sumter Gamecocks (Sumter, SC) and the host Hartsville Red Foxes (Hartsville, SC), saw Sumter's soccer squad hold off Hartsville by a count of 3-2.
The Gamecocks (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against Lakewood (Sumter, SC). The Gators enter the non-league battle with a 3-8 record. In their last battle, Lakewood was edged by South Florence (Florence, SC), 10-0, in a league battle.
Next up, the Red Foxes battle the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC) in a AAAA Region 5 battle, on Friday, April 11. Hartsville will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Diamond Hornets enter the battle with a 0-9 record after their 1-0 league loss to Crestwood (Sumter, SC).
