The North Gaston Wildcats softball team scored 13 runs and held the host Bessemer City Yellow Jackets to 0 in the Wildcats non-league win on Wednesday.

The Wildcats now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crest for a Big South 3A battle on Thursday, April 10. North Gaston will confront a Chargers team coming off a 5-2 non-league win over McDowell (Marion, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Bessemer City moves to 4-12 on the season. The Yellow jackets host Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC) to confront the Rams in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle on Thursday, April 10. The Rams come into the battle with a record of 9-5. Highland Tech won 14-4 in their recent league battle against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC)
