The Hopkins Royals edged the host Chaska Hawks softball squad by a count of 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Royals play the Maple Grove Crimson (Maple Grove, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, April 11. Hopkins will attempt to upgrade on its 2-0 season record. The Crimson enter the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 7-6 league loss to Centennial (Circle Pines, MN).
The Hawks (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Orono (Long Lake, MN). The Spartans enter the Wright County challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Orono edged Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis, MN), 13-3, in a non-league challenge.
