The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL) and the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), observed Highland's softball team get by Southwestern by a tally of 5-4.

The Bulldogs (4-5) will now prepare for their bout against Mascoutah (Mascoutah, IL). The Indians go into the Mississippi Valley bout with a 5-3 record. In their last bout, Mascoutah tipped Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL), 6-5, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Piasa Birds battle the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) in a South Central bout, on Friday, April 11. Southwestern will attempt to advance on its 2-3 season record. The Hiltoppers go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 7-6 non-league loss to Jersey (Jerseyville, IL).
