The Northwest Mustangs baseball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Smithton Tigers to 0 in the Mustangs non-league win on Thursday.

The Mustangs now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Sherwood for a non-league test on Friday, April 10. Northwest will clash with a Marksmen team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Butler (Butler, MO). The Marksmen record now stands at 3-4.

With the defeat, Smithton drops to 0-8 on the year. The Tigers travel to Slater (Slater, MO) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league test on Saturday, April 11. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 4-2. Slater won 7-6 in their recent non-league test against Glasgow (Glasgow, MO)
