California High School Softball - CORE Butte knocked off by Willows

April 9, 2026: Chico, CA 95928

In Thursday's non-league test, the Willows Honkers (Willows, CA) softball squad overwhelmed the host CORE Butte Lynx (Chico, CA), by a count of 16-2.

Next, the Honkers meet the Durham Trojans (Durham, CA) in a Sacramento Valley test, on Monday, April 13. Willows will attempt to upgrade on its 2-15 season record. The Trojans go into the test with a 6-6 record after their 11-1 non-league loss to River Valley (Yuba City, CA).

The Lynx (0-13) will now prepare for their test against Redding Christian (Palo Cedro, CA). The Lions go into the Five Star test with a 0-5 record. In their last test, Redding Christian was routed by Los Molinos (Los Molinos, CA), 27-0, in a league test.
