St. John the Baptist Cougars (West Islip, NY) followers exited the stadium in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad edge the host Monsignor Farrell Lions (Staten Island, NY), 3-2 in a non-league battle.
The Cougars now have a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kellenberg Memorial for a Catholic - Island battle on Tuesday, May 3. St. John the Baptist will clash with a Firebirds squad coming off a 11-10 league loss to Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, NY). The Firebirds record now stands at 4-6.
In their next game, the Lions clash with the Xavier Knights (New York, NY) in a Catholic - City battle, on Wednesday, May 4. Monsignor Farrell will attempt to move on its 7-4 season record.
