Holy Cross Cougars (Louisville, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Sunday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Carlisle County Comets (Bardwell, KY), 10-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fairdale for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. Holy Cross will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-6 league loss to Beth Haven (Louisville, KY). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-15.

With the loss, Carlisle County falls to 13-8 on the campaign. The Comets host Fulton County (Hickman, KY) to face the Pilots in a District 1 challenge on Monday, May 2. The Pilots enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Fulton County won 10-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Lake County (Tiptonville, TN)
