Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), 15-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Redbirds now own a 9-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Collinsville for a Southwestern challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Alton will battle a Kahoks squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Belleville West (Belleville, IL). The Kahoks record now stands at 3-17.

With the loss, Metro-East Lutheran falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Knights host Greenville (Greenville, IL) to battle the Comets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 4-21. Greenville lost 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Breese Central (Breese, IL)
