Hillcrest Huskies (Midvale, UT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Brighton Bengals (Salt Lake City, UT), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 8-13 record. They take the field next when they host Cedar Valley for a 5A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Hillcrest will face a Aviators squad coming off a 14-3 league win over Payson (Payson, UT). The Aviators record now stands at 9-12.

With the loss, Brighton falls to 6-11 on the campaign. The Bengals host Murray (Murray, UT) to face the Spartans in a 5A Region 6 challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Murray won 19-3 in their recent league challenge against East (Salt Lake City, UT)
