Greenwich Cardinals (Greenwich, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Darien Blue Wave (Darien, CT), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 2-12 record. They play next when they travel to Ridgefield for a Fairfield County match on Tuesday, May 2. Greenwich will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Ludlowe (Fairfield, CT). The Tigers record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Darien moves to 4-8 on the season. The Blue wave host Danbury (Danbury, CT) to meet the Hatters in a Fairfield County match on Wednesday, May 3. The Hatters go into the match with a record of 5-7. Danbury lost 5-3 in their recent league match against Norwalk (Norwalk, CT)
