In Monday's non-league contest, the Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) softball team overwhelmed the host Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), by a margin of 10-3.

With the triumph, Olympia moves its record to 18-3 on the year. The Spartans travel to Athens (Athens, IL) to play the Warriors in a Sangamo contest on Tuesday, May 2. The Warriors come into the contest with a record of 5-11. Athens won 11-8 in their recent non-league contest against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL)

In their next game, the Pioneers play the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL) in a Central State Eight contest, on Tuesday, May 2. Normal University will attempt to move on its 19-5 season record. The Cyclones come into the contest with a 6-16 record after their 6-5 non-league loss to Lexington (Lexington, IL).
