Putnam County Panthers (Granville, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Princeville Princes (Princeville, IL), 12-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 13-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Woodland for a Tri-County challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Putnam County will face a Warriors squad coming off a 14-2 non-league win over Earlville (Earlville, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 12-8.

With the loss, Princeville falls to 6-16 on the campaign. The Princes travel to Monmouth United (Monmouth, IL) to face the Red Storm in a Lincoln Trail challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Red Storm enter the challenge with a record of 1-15. Monmouth United lost 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Bushnell-Prairie City (Bushnell, IL)
