Walt Whitman Wildcats (Huntington Station, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Babylon Eagles (West Babylon, NY), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they host Bay Shore for a Section 11 AA-2 challenge on Wednesday, May 3.

With the loss, West Babylon falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Eagles host Hauppauge (Hauppauge, NY) to battle the Eagles in a Section 11 A-5 challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 10-3. Hauppauge lost 7-2 in their recent league challenge against East Islip (Islip Terrace, NY)
