Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Churchland Truckers (Portsmouth, VA), 10-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they host Lakeland for a Southeastern challenge on Thursday, May 2. Nansemond River will battle a Cavaliers squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Hickory (Chesapeake, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-6.

With the loss, Churchland falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Truckers travel to Norview (Norfolk, VA) to battle the Pilots in a Eastern challenge on Friday, May 3. The Pilots enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Norview won 25-6 in their recent league challenge against Booker T. Washington (Norfolk, VA)
