Rowan County Vikings (Morehead, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host East Carter Raiders (Grayson, KY), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 17-6 record. They take the field next when they host Mason County for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 2. Rowan County will battle a Royals squad coming off a 10-6 non-league win over Scott (Covington, KY). The Royals record now stands at 15-7.

With the loss, East Carter falls to 20-5 on the campaign. The Raiders host Greenup County (Greenup, KY) to battle the Musketeers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. The Musketeers enter the challenge with a record of 18-4. Greenup County won 7-4 in their recent league challenge against Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY)
