Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Grayslake North Knights (Grayslake, IL), 11-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 10-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Maine East for a Central Suburban - North challenge on Thursday, May 2. Vernon Hills will battle a Blue Demons squad coming off a 6-0 league loss to Maine West (Des Plaines, IL). The Blue Demons record now stands at 0-14.

With the loss, Grayslake North falls to 3-16 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Grant Community (Fox Lake, IL) to battle the Bulldogs in a Northern Lake County challenge on Thursday, May 2. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 7-14. Grant Community won 14-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Jacobs (Algonquin, IL)
