Shakopee Sabers (Shakopee, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lakeville South Cougars (Lakeville, MN), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Sabers now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they host Farmington for a South Suburban Conference challenge on Thursday, May 2. Shakopee will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 7-0 league win over Eagan (Eagan, MN). The Tigers record now stands at 10-1.

With the loss, Lakeville South falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Apple Valley (Apple Valley, MN) to battle the Eagles in a South Suburban Conference challenge on Friday, May 3. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-12. Apple Valley lost 15-1 in their recent league challenge against Eastview (Apple Valley, MN)
