Manchester Greyhounds (Manchester, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs (Lynchburg, OH), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 12-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fayetteville-Perry for a Southern Hills Athletic challenge on Saturday, May 4. Manchester will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 13-2 league loss to Fairfield (Leesburg, OH). The Rockets record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Lynchburg-Clay falls to 10-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Clay (Portsmouth, OH) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 4. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 10-7. Clay lost 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington (Ripley, OH)
