Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Las Vegas Dons (Las Vegas, NM), 10-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Matadors now sport a 15-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Mesa for a 5A District 2 challenge on Saturday, May 4. Sandia will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 15-5 league loss to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Mustangs record now stands at 10-14.

With the loss, West Las Vegas falls to 18-2 on the campaign. The Dons travel to Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM) to face the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 13-10. Albuquerque Academy lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM)
