The Tohatchi Cougars routed the host Wingate Bears softball squad by a final score of 15-5 in Wednesday's league battle.

The Cougars (7-13) will now prepare for their battle against Newcomb (Newcomb, NM). The Skyhawks go into the 3A District 1 battle with a 16-7 record. In their last battle, Newcomb topped Zuni (Zuni, NM), 16-0, in a league battle.

The Bears now possess a 10-11 record. They play next when they host Thoreau for a 3A District 1 battle on Tuesday, May 7. Wingate will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 21-2 league loss to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Hawks record now stands at 4-13.
