In Thursday's non-league game, the host Mill Valley Jaguars baseball team scored a close 6-4 win over the Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds.

The Jaguars (11-3) will now prepare for their game against Olathe East (Olathe, KS). The Hawks go into the Sunflower game with a 17-2 record. In their last game, Olathe East nudged Gardner-Edgerton (Gardner, KS), 5-3, in a league game.

Next, the Thunderbirds play the Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) in a Centennial game, on Monday, May 5. Shawnee Heights will attempt to improve on its 13-5 season record. The Blues go into the game with a 9-5 record after their 10-1 non-league win over Lawrence (Lawrence, KS).
