Virginia High School Softball - Grassfield can't get by Western Branch

May 1, 2025: Chesapeake, VA 23323

The Western Branch Bruins edged the host Grassfield Grizzlies softball squad by a count of 4-3 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Bruins meet the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints (Suffolk, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, May 5. Western Branch will attempt to upgrade on its 11-2 season record. The Saints enter the challenge with a 15-4 record after their 1-0 non-league win over Isle of Wight Academy (Isle of Wight, VA).

The Grizzlies (11-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Kellam (Virginia Beach, VA). The Knights enter the non-league challenge with a 14-1 record. In their last challenge, Kellam edged Green Run (Virginia Beach, VA), 17-0, in a league challenge.
