The Old Town Coyotes edged the visiting Hampden Broncos softball squad by a count of 9-8 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Coyotes play the Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME) in a Class B North challenge, on Saturday, May 3. Old Town will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Trojans enter the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 7-0 non-league win over Washington Academy (East Machias, ME).

The Broncos (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lewiston (Lewiston, ME). The Blue Devils enter the Class A North challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Lewiston was nudged by Edward Little (Auburn, ME), 6-3, in a league challenge.
