The McGehee Owls triumphed over the host Watson Chapel Wildcats softball squad by a count of 14-3 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Owls play the Rison Wildcats (Rison, AR) in a 3A Region 8 challenge, on Friday, May 2. McGehee will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 7-9 record after their 6-3 league loss to DeWitt (DeWitt, AR).

The Wildcats (5-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Warren (Warren, AR). The Lumberjacks enter the 4A Region 8 challenge with a 13-5 record. In their last challenge, Warren overcame Hamburg (Hamburg, AR), 13-3, in a league challenge.
