Connecticut High School Softball - Newtown sneaks past Shepaug Valley

In Thursday's non-league match, the host Newtown Nighthawks softball team scored a tight 4-3 win over the Shepaug Valley Spartans.
The Nighthawks (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Immaculate (Danbury, CT). The Mustangs come into the Southwest - Colonial match with a 8-2 record. In their last match, Immaculate nipped Pomperaug (Southbury, CT), 13-3, in a league match.
In their next game, the Spartans confront the Oxford Wolverines (Oxford, CT) in a non-league match, on Saturday, May 3. Shepaug Valley will attempt to better on its 5-7 season record. The Wolverines come into the match with a 7-1 record after their 10-1 league loss to Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, CT).
