Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) and the host Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL), witnessed Normal University's softball squad tip Champaign Central by a count of 4-1.

The Pioneers now sport a 16-13 record. They play next when they travel to Lexington for a non-league match on Friday, May 13. Normal University will face a Minutemen squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL). The Minutemen record now stands at 16-5.

With the loss, Champaign Central moves to 12-14 on the season. The Maroons travel to Arcola (Arcola, IL) to face the Purple Riders in a non-league match on Wednesday, May 11. The Purple Riders go into the match with a record of 14-12. Arcola won 3-0 in their recent non-league match against Dieterich (Dieterich, IL)
