Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Eldorado Eagles (Eldorado, IL), 17-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Blackcats now own a 9-14 record. They take the field next when they host Herrin for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 11. Goreville will face a Tigers squad coming off a 12-11 non-league win over DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 7-19.

With the loss, Eldorado falls to 2-15 on the campaign. The Eagles host Carmi-White County (Carmi, IL) to face the Bulldogs in a Black Diamond East challenge on Thursday, May 12. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 14-6. Carmi-White County won 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL)
