Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL), 13-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Midgets now own a 25-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Breese Central for a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge on Thursday, May 12. Freeburg will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Columbia (Columbia, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 15-6.

With the loss, Mater Dei falls to 16-5 on the campaign. The Knights host Belleville West (Belleville, IL) to battle the Maroons in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 11. The Maroons enter the challenge with a record of 18-9. Belleville West won 14-1 in their recent league challenge against Alton (Alton, IL)
