Pelham Memorial Pelicans (Pelham, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Lakeland Hornets (Shrub Oak, NY), 12-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Pelicans now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rye for a Section 1 II - D challenge on Wednesday, May 11. Pelham Memorial will face a Garnets squad coming off a 7-4 league loss to Harrison (Harrison, NY). The Garnets record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Hornets host Harrison (Harrison, NY) to face the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 13. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 13-4. Harrison won 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Ursuline (New Rochelle, NY)
