Manistee Chippewas (Manistee, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Orchard View Cardinals (Muskegon, MI), 17-3 in a league challenge.

The Chippewas now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ludington for a Lakes 8 challenge on Tuesday, May 17.

With the loss, Orchard View falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Shelby (Shelby, MI) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 16. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Shelby lost 9-8 in their recent league challenge against Mason County Central (Scottville, MI)
