Woodlawn Cardinals (Woodlawn, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Nashville Hornets (Nashville, IL), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now sport a 15-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Christ Our Rock Lutheran for a Midland Trail challenge on Wednesday, May 11. Woodlawn will face a Silver Stallions squad coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Odin/Patoka/Sandoval (Sandoval, IL). The Silver Stallions record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Nashville falls to 14-13 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 11. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 11-12. O'Fallon won 20-0 in their recent league challenge against East St. Louis (East St. Louis, IL)
