In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) softball team held off the visiting Tri-Valley Vikings (Downs, IL), by a margin of 7-6.
With the triumph, Athens moves its record to 9-12 on the year.
In their next game, the Vikings play the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, May 12. Tri-Valley will attempt to move on its 16-8 season record. The Pioneers come into the contest with a 25-6 record after their 18-3 league win over MacArthur (Decatur, IL).
