Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lordstown Red Devils (Warren, OH), 10-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 18-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Maplewood for a Northeastern Athletic challenge on Thursday, May 11. Mathews will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to Southern (Salineville, OH). The Rockets record now stands at 9-7.

With the loss, Lordstown falls to 6-7 on the campaign.
