The Newburyport Clippers (Newburyport, MA) softball routed the visiting Manchester Essex Hornets (Manchester, MA), 15-2 in Wednesday's non-league bout.

The Clippers (8-5) will now prepare for their bout against Lynnfield (Lynnfield, MA). The Pioneers go into the non-league bout with a 4-4 record.

The Hornets now possess a 4-8 record. They play next when they host Amesbury for a Cape Ann Baker bout on Friday, May 12.
