The Boyd County Lions baseball team scored 11 runs and limited the host Holy Cross Indians to 0 in the Lions non-league victory on Friday.
The Lions (21-2) will now prepare for their match against Covington Catholic (Park Hills, KY). The Colonels go into the non-league match with a 26-1 record. In their last match, Covington Catholic gained a win over Beechwood (Fort Mitchell, KY), 5-3, in a league match.
The Indians (11-20) will now prepare for their match against Newport Central Catholic (Newport, KY). The Thoroughbreds come into the non-league challenge with a 7-18 record. In their last challenge, Newport Central Catholic was overwhelmed by Dixie Heights (Edgewood, KY), 12-6, in a non-league challenge.
