In Friday's non-league game, the host Staples-Motley Cardinals baseball team scored a tight 3-2 victory over the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters.
The Cardinals (7-4) will now prepare for their game against Aitkin (Aitkin, MN). The Gobblers go into the non-league game with a 6-7 record. In their last game, Aitkin was edged by Big Lake (Big Lake, MN), 22-10, in a non-league game.
The Mainstreeters (2-11) will now prepare for their game against Brandon/Evansville (Brandon, MN). The Chargers go into the non-league game with a 5-4 record.
