Bucksport Golden Bucks (Bucksport, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME), 12-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Bucks now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mount View for a Class C North challenge on Monday, May 13. Bucksport will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 12-0 non-league loss to St. Dominic (Lewiston, ME). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-8.

With the loss, Mount Desert Island falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Old Town (Old Town, ME) to battle the Coyotes in a Class B North challenge on Tuesday, May 14. The Coyotes enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Old Town won 12-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Bangor (Bangor, ME)
