Columbia City Eagles (Columbia City, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Central Noble Cougars (Albion, IN), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now sport a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Norwell for a Northeast Eight challenge on Monday, May 13. Columbia City will face a Knights squad coming off a 12-2 league loss to Bellmont (Decatur, IN). The Knights record now stands at 9-7.

With the loss, Central Noble falls to 16-7 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to West Noble (Ligonier, IN) to face the Chargers in a Northeast Corner challenge on Monday, May 13. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 7-10. West Noble lost 8-3 in their recent league challenge against Angola (Angola, IN)
