Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Springfield Spartans (Akron, OH) and the host Holy Name Green Wave (Parma Heights, OH), witnessed Springfield's softball squad tip Holy Name by a count of 10-5.

The Spartans now sport a 15-7 record. They play next when they host Field for a Metro Athletic Conference match on Monday, May 13. Springfield will face a Falcons squad coming off a 14-0 league win over Ravenna (Ravenna, OH). The Falcons record now stands at 21-3.

With the loss, Holy Name moves to 11-6 on the season.
