Massabesic Mustangs (Waterboro, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kennebunk Rams (Kennebunk, ME), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host South Portland for a Class A South challenge on Tuesday, May 14. Massabesic will battle a Red Riots squad coming off a 17-4 league win over Westbrook (Westbrook, ME). The Red Riots record now stands at 9-0.

With the loss, Kennebunk falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Portland (Portland, ME) to battle the Bulldogs in a Class A South challenge on Monday, May 13. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 7-3. Portland won 17-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Sanford (Sanford, ME)
