Messalonskee Eagles (Oakland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mt. Ararat Eagles (Topsham, ME), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Brunswick for a Class A North challenge on Monday, May 13. Messalonskee will face a Dragons squad coming off a 16-2 league win over Mt. Ararat (Topsham, ME). The Dragons record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Mt. Ararat falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Eagles host Bangor (Bangor, ME) to face the Rams in a Class A North challenge on Saturday, May 11. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. Bangor lost 12-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Old Town (Old Town, ME)
