Nashville Hornets (Nashville, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Trico Pioneers (Campbell Hill, IL), 12-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now sport a 17-11 record. They take the field next when they host Columbia for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 11. Nashville will face a Eagles squad coming off a 2-0 league win over East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 19-10.

With the loss, Trico falls to 18-5 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Goreville (Goreville, IL) to clash with the Blackcats in a Black Diamond West game on Saturday, May 11. The Blackcats come into the game with a record of 13-15. Goreville lost 16-6 in their recent non-league game against Herrin (Herrin, IL)
