South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Westbrook Blue Blazes (Westbrook, ME), 17-4 in a league challenge.

The Red Riots now own a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Massabesic for a Class A South challenge on Tuesday, May 14. South Portland will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 6-4 league win over Kennebunk (Kennebunk, ME). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Westbrook falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Blue blazes host Scarborough (Scarborough, ME) to face the Red Storm in a Class A South challenge on Monday, May 13. The Red Storm enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. Scarborough lost 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Windham (Windham, ME)
