The Springport Spartans baseball team scored 15 runs and held the visiting Athens Indians to 9 in the Spartans league win on Saturday.
The Spartans now hold a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they host Homer for a non-league test on Saturday, May 10. Springport will play a Trojans team coming off a 10-0 league loss to Columbia Central (Brooklyn, MI). The Trojans record now stands at 6-8.
With the defeat, Athens drops to 2-12 on the year. The Indians travel to Burr Oak (Burr Oak, MI) to play the Bobcats in a non-league test on Tuesday, May 13. The Bobcats go into the test with a record of 2-6. Burr Oak lost 14-0 in their recent non-league test against Mendon (Mendon, MI)
