In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Thorp Cardinals softball team scored a tight 12-7 victory over the Chequamegon Screaming Eagles.

The Cardinals (11-7) will now prepare for their match against McDonell Central (Chippewa Falls, WI). The Macks go into the Cloverbelt - West match with a 10-7 record. In their last match, McDonell Central was routed by Stratford (Stratford, WI), 10-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Screaming Eagles battle the Hurley Northstars (Hurley, WI) in a non-league match, on Monday, May 12. Chequamegon will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record. The Northstars go into the match with a 8-4 record after their 14-7 non-league loss to Augusta (Augusta, WI).
