The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Waltonville Spartans (Waltonville, IL) and the visiting Edwards County Lions (Albion, IL), observed Waltonville's softball team get by Edwards County by a tally of 5-1.

The Spartans (20-6) will now prepare for their bout against Wayne City (Wayne City, IL). The Indians go into the Mid-South bout with a 4-8 record. In their last bout, Wayne City was routed by Waltonville (Waltonville, IL), 10-0, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Lions battle the Flora Wolves (Flora, IL) in a Black Diamond East bout, on Monday, May 12. Edwards County will attempt to advance on its 16-4 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 7-1 non-league loss to Effingham (Effingham, IL).
