In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Effingham Hearts softball team scored a nice 15-3 victory over the Fairfield Mules.

The Hearts (19-6) will now prepare for their match against Robinson (Robinson, IL). The Maroons go into the non-league match with a 11-11 record. In their last match, Robinson was routed by Newton (Newton, IL), 9-2, in a league match.

In their next game, the Mules battle the Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Eagles (Sandoval, IL) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, May 13. Fairfield will attempt to better on its 11-14 season record. The Eagles go into the match with a 6-8 record after their 16-10 league win over Red Hill (Bridgeport, IL).
