In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Hackensack Comets softball team scored a tight 10-7 win over the West Orange Mountaineers.
The Comets (6-13) will now prepare for their match against Paramus (Paramus, NJ). The Spartans come into the Big North - Freedom match with a 9-9 record. In their last match, Paramus nipped Dumont (Dumont, NJ), 9-8, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Mountaineers confront the East Side Red Raiders (Newark, NJ) in a SEC - Colonial match, on Monday, May 12. West Orange will attempt to better on its 12-7 season record. The Red Raiders come into the match with a 1-10 record after their 19-1 non-league loss to Millburn (Millburn, NJ).
