The Wayne County Cardinals softball team scored 11 runs and held the visiting Leslie County Eagles to 1 in the Cardinals non-league win on Saturday.

The Cardinals now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pineville for a non-league battle on Saturday, May 10. Wayne County will encounter a Mountain Lions team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over McCreary Central (Stearns, KY). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Leslie County moves to 8-17 on the season. The Eagles travel to Wolfe County (Campton, KY) to encounter the Wolves in a non-league battle on Monday, May 12. The Wolves come into the battle with a record of 20-9. Wolfe County won 5-3 in their recent non-league battle against Knott County Central (Hindman, KY)
